It's Almost That Time

It's 42 degrees now.
High in the 70s today.

My first fire is usually for atmosphere.
Because I can't wait any longer.

But after that
I have criteria.
It's a Dixie criteria.

The high has got to be 60 or less before I'll fire up.
(What's yours?)

My new friend, Harold, brought  me some firewood yesterday afternoon.
He and my Hubs and I unloaded wood and talked.
And then we stood there in the driveway and talked some more.
About the economy, and development, and the price of land, and the government, and growing old, and shoulder surgery, and turnip greens, and old farmhouses,

and how people have gotten to be in too big of a hurry to be friendly anymore.
