It's funny that I mentioned in my previous post that canning apples made me feel super domesticated. Wasn't that just yesterday?
Ah, yes. 'Twas.
And after I posted that, I put a whole chicken in the crock pot.
Added some spices.
And went about my merry way.
I was feeling super domesticated again.
I mean, check me out.
I'm making dinner while I'm not even at home. I've got dinner in the crock pot.
And then.
Well, when I got home and opened the door.
Oh, the smell.
Can you smell that smell?
While I was gone, I was burning a chicken in the crock pot.
Am I the only one who has BURNED dinner in a crock pot?
I didn't even know that was possible.
'Tis!
For I have done it.
So I served Plan B for dinner.
My Plan B is always the same.
Spaghetti and canned sauce.(or "gravy" as my Italian Hubs calls sauce.)
It was quite good. I'm not a huge meat fan (though the rest of my family is), so the lack of meat suited me fine.
But.
I'm not feeling super domesticated anymore.
Domestic Goddess? Me? Ha!
Domestic Goddesses do not burn dinner in the crock pot.
I'm pretty sure.

Your not the first! You forgot the liquid. I did the same thing once. I was home when I smelled the burning smell and added the broth. I enjoy your daily posts now. Glad your writing more. Have a blessed day.
ReplyDeleteCarole, I'm so sorry to have missed your comment. Welcome! But Yes! You are exactly right. I didn't add liquid. For some reason, I thought the chicken had enough so I didn't have to add. No, not so! It was too late for me, but glad you saved yours. My crock pot is still a mess! I burned it BUT GOOD! And here it is crock pot season!
